We call it Soil to Savor. When the beginning of the supply chain is rotten, the final product can only be bitter fruit, no matter how skilled the maker. We source cacao on three non-negotiable criteria:

Sustainability isn't an afterthought. Farmers who are treated with respect take pride in their land. Soil that is tended, not stripped, produces cacao worth crafting — and makes that possible for generations to come. We're a small company and we have growing to do. We don't claim perfection. What we claim is conviction: we would rather stop making chocolate than write checks to suppliers who exploit the farmers at the front of the chain.
